DO YOU NEED SOME HELP? HERE IS A GUIDE ON HOW TO MAKE A VIDEO-WRITING A SCRIPT-
This is the second in a series of articles about commissioning video. A script dictates what the audience will see and hear. It is the ‘blue print’ for your video. A sentence of script usually accompanies a ‘matching’ piece of footage illustrating the spoken word. Quite often we hear clients expressing dread at the thought of writing a script or they don’t know where to start. Sometimes the content already exists in current marketing material such as brochures or on a web site. This can be adapted to fit the video. We do offer a scriptwriting service, please call us on 0203 362 8288 if you need help with scriptwriting.
The simplest way to shape your video and envisage the end result is to create a spreadsheet. See this example SCRIPT. Add what you want to say and what you would like to see simultaneously on screen. We can then have look and suggest some creative filming techniques or methods that will enhance your initial ideas and lay down the base of a successful video production.
We have added several other columns including Location, Animation, Title etc. These can also be completed, the more information and detail the better. A pre-production meeting is always a good idea, this allows all the stakeholders the opportunity to meet our production team and discuss the filming in detail. The script and shot list can be modified and ned at this stage.
Once the script has been approved by all the stakeholders it is time to chose a suitable voiceover artist to narrate your story. Male? Female? Age? Accent? The choice is yours and luckily there are hundreds, if not thousands of options. We can help you select the right on for you and organise the recording and production of the recording. The voiceover track is then recorded in readiness for editing.
We developed a series of pertinent questions that will help you shape your video project and enable us to understand your requirements.
We have incorporated these questions within our VIDEO PROJECT BUILDER. Once you have completed the answers we can then respond with some great ideas and ultimately submit an estimate of costs.
