CURO HOUSING TRUST MULBERRY PARK CASE STUDY

Using time lapse we have documented the site prior to demolition, then the demolition process and finally the construction of the new homes. These time lapse progress videos are combined with a range of indoor and outdoor filming as well as ‘talking heads’ interviews with residents, councillors, stakeholders and Curo staff.

TESTIMONIAL

“The “Story so Far” videos that have been produced by the team at Film Infinity are a great way to communicate the progress on site and engage with the wider community. Film Infinity have documented the building of Mulberry Park since its inception in 2014, using real time video, interviews and time lapse, capturing the creation of a new and exciting development in Bath. The team have been great to work with and we are delighted with the results”

Rebecca FitzGerald – Director of Communications, CURO Housing Association

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT:

  • ENGAGE WITH THE EXISTING COMMUNITY
  • COMMUNICATE WITH EXISTING TENENTS
  • SERVICES PROVIDED : VIDEO PRODUCTION AND TIME LASPE COVERAGE

One of the milestones we covered was the opening of the Hub Community Centre. A stunning building incorporating a cafe, meeting rooms and leisure studios.

THE BRIEF

Curo is a not-for-profit housing and support organisation based in Bath, providing affordable homes and high quality care and support services across the West of England. Curo manage nearly 13,000 homes and build hundreds of new homes every year.

Film Infinity was commissioned in March 2014 to supply video and time lapse services to document the Mulberry Park Housing Development until its projected completion. Providing over 700 new homes for Bath. The brief included Corporate videography in the shape of “Story so Far” videos documenting in real time and time lapse the development of Mulberry Park. Film Infinity produced event videos which include ‘talking head’ interviews with residents, councillors, stakeholders and Curo staff.

THE SOLUTION

We produced a video which included a range of indoor and outdoor filming as well as ‘talking heads’ and a shortened version without interviews. In addition, as part of our contract, in December 2018, we were commissioned to create a video for the opening of the Mulberry Park development community centre, The Hub. The turnaround time was very tight, with 19 days from initial phone call to delivery of the final edit.

We visit the site every 8 weeks to service the cameras. We then edit and deliver a new progress time lapse video update for social media and inclusion in the Story so far video.

THE OUTCOME

We started this project in 2014, installing four time lapse cameras to document the original MOD site prior to demolition. We then covered the massive demolition process, and finally the mammoth task of building 700 new homes. At each of these milestones we were awarded a new contract to carry on documenting this project. We have developed a successful working relationship with the CURO team ensuring the work is delivered on time and on budget. We liaise directly with the site Project Managers arranging visits and access.

RORY McFADDEN, GRAHAM CONSTRUCTION

“We are really happy with the results and it is all down to their enthusiasm and patience. We couldn’t have done it without Film Infinity and we look forward to working with them on the next project”.

SAM CORDERY, MEGAMAN UK

LAURA NEWMAN-CARDWELL , OUTPUT STUDIO

“Film Infinity were relaxed and easy to work with, and kept any disruption to a minimum. They were patient and understanding throughout the whole process. I was very happy with the result and would have no hesitation in recommending them to another NHS hospital”

JENNIE PONTING, BASILDON & THURROCK NHS

“We worked with Film Infinity to create a series of promotional films for one of our well established product ranges, and they were fantastic throughout. The amount of equipment they brought with them and levels of professionalism were an instant confidence boost and reassurance that we had made the right decision”

TOM BROOKS, SYRRIS

“Film Infinity exceeded our expectations. With a can-do attitude nothing was too much trouble. They are not only great cameramen and producers, but they proved that they could manage any situation including directing and filming international children in London on the busiest and hottest day of the year! As for the final video, when they sent the first edit through, my reaction was ‘wow!’. In addition to all of this, they were simply just nice people to work with.”

NATALIE DAWE, BELL ENGLISH

“Film Infinity documented one of the most ambitious conservation projects even undertaken on a work by Henry Moore. Large Figure in a Shelter was Moore’s last and largest sculpture and required complete surface sanding and repatination. The filming necessitated a number of visits over several weeks to ensure that each stage of the process was recorded. The result is probably the most useful educational film on bronze sculpture restoration ever made and provides a unique insight into the techniques passed down by Moore’s own assistants and still in use today”

ANITA FELDMAN, HENRY MOORE FOUNDATION

“Recognising the importance of video as a marketing tool, we were looking to commission a short film to publicise our current exhibition.  Film Infinity listened to what we wanted, advised us, and then delivered a stunning piece of work that ticked all the boxes. In essence, they were a joy to work with”

ROB BURTON, HATFIELD HOUSE

“We asked Film Infinity to produce a high quality and informative video on the opening of our new Academy.  From the outset, they were professional, well organised and flexible.  They were able to get the best out of the students as well as providing impartial advice to the School to ensure the best outcome.  We are absolutely delighted with the outcome as it manages to both capture the ethos and culture of the School, as well as be informative and entertaining.  I would recommend them without hesitation and will be using them again in the future.”
